Optimizing production and quality through data collection and analysis
Technology is a powerful tool that can improve both production processes and product quality —a crucial factor, mainly for those companies operating in a strategic field like the food industry. Unigrà, which has been investing on the technological transformation for several years, has taken another significant step forward by fully digitalizing all the production lines.
A successful partnership
Developed in collaboration with Deloitte and Amazon Web Services (AWS), this project connects the production facilities of Olfood, a company within the Unigrà Group, allowing them to communicate through a single platform. This platform automatically transfers data from the ERP system to the machines operating along the production lines. The production process has been optimized with concrete results. Real-time data visibility enables Unigrà to continuously monitor production performance, make timely strategic decisions, and identify areas for optimization —ultimately improving both product quality and the way people work.
Industry 4.0 Certification
In addition, this digital project tracks energy consumption and raw materials with a positive impact on the environmental sustainability. “We strongly believe that IT plays a fundamental role as a business enabler and accelerator” says Antonio Nicoletti, Group CIO at Unigrà. “This is why we decided to develop this solution and leverage the benefits offered by new technologies.” Thanks to this project, Olfood has also achieved the Industry 4.0 Certification, aligning with the requirements of the National Transition 4.0 Plan.
